Spojená škola v Detve

Spojená školain Detva consists of two organizational units. The Business Academy provides quality training in the fields of economics, business, accounting and business correspondence. Graduates can not only apply themselves in practice, but they can study at universities of various specializations.

The secondary vocational school prepares students for various professions of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. It offers four-year study courses completed by the A - level examination: mechanic setter, electrical mechanic and a mechatronics mechanic. Pupils also receive an apprenticeship certificate and can also obtain a welding license. The school cooperates intensively with regional employers. Pupils undergo part of the training at the workplaces of companies, which offer them several benefits such as a scholarship, protective aids, transport allowance and, above all, the opportunity to work there after the graduation. More than half of first-year students are educated in the dual education system, both at the Secondary Vocational School and the Business Academy.

The school offers the opportunity to participate in many interesting activities and projects such as knowledge competitions, sports tournaments and study groups. Our students have great success at the trade fair of training companies, the engineering competition, competitions in CNC programming, the nationwide competition Embassy of Youth, information processing on a PC and many others. An important part of education is participation in international projects. Every year since 2005, students have completed internships in partner schools in Germany, the Czech Republic and Malta. The internship serves the development of professional and language competencies. Getting to know new countries and cultures is also an important part of it. Each successful graduate receives a certificate, Europass-mobility as well as ECVET documents, which are used to transfer credits in vocational education and training acquired during foreign mobility. The school is proud of several awards such as the Embassy of the European Parliament, the third best school in the 30-year history of the Erasmus + program or the second best school in cooperation with the employer. In addition to professional internships, we implement joint projects with partners from the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Norway and Hungary. At the same time, we are the most successful school in Slovakia within the Euroscola program, organized by the European Parliament. We have already managed to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg and Brussels and negotiate with peers from all over the EU on topics that unite the whole of Europe. We strongly support the teaching of foreign languages. Pupils and teachers can take language courses abroad. Every year, assistants from the USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Malaysia, Germany, Taiwan and Finland help in English lessons.

We use modern information technologies in teaching. At the Business Academy, it is the KROS accounting program, which includes simple, double-entry and payroll accounting. In the engineering professions, students work in modern computer classrooms with drawing and technological software SolidWorks, Multisim, Workbench, Solid Electrical, Solid Works Composer. The school has its own CNC learning machines, as well as production lathes and milling machines. A modern electrical engineering laboratory for electrical measurements is a matter of course. The school is included in the BBSK pilot school project within the Catching-up regions initiative, where we will gradually build robotics and automation workplaces, other CNC classrooms as well as robotic workplaces in the welding school as part of an investment of almost 5 million.

In addition to the school-leaving certificate or apprenticeship certificate, graduates will also receive a certificate of professional competence in electrical engineering. At the Business Academy, it is a free ESOL language certificate from English, an international computer certificate ECDL, a certificate from KROS accounting or a certificate on economic competencies from work in a training company.
